78 HIRED ON THE SPOT IN ABRA’S JOB FAIR

BANGUED, Abra – Seventy-eight jobseekers (78) were hired on the spot during the job fair that was conducted at the Capitol.  The 78 lucky job seekers were among the seven hundred twenty seven (727) qualified applicants. The Job Fair put together  twenty eight  (28)  local employers and eight (8) overseas recruitment agencies offering eight thousand five hundred thirty two (8,532) job vacancies/orders.

The Abra provincial government job fair is in support to the Trabaho, Negosyo, at Kabuhayan (TNK) caravan of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the Department Trade and Industry (DTI).

DOLE-CAR OIC Regional Director Exequiel Ronie A. Guzman said the DOLE and DTI jointly organized the Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan (TNK) – Employment and Livelihood activity in Abra and various cities and municipalities in the Cordilleras for a collaboration of the public and private sectors to develop a National Employment Program.

“This strategic employment and livelihood plan is devised to support the National Development and Security Strategy geared towards the Philippine Development Plan 2017-2022.” Guzman added.

Related to this, the TNK is also in parallel to Gov. Maria Jocelyn Valera-Bernos agenda program for employment in the province. Decent work provided to the constituency of Abra (Abreños) could somehow uplift the present living condition of the 78 jobseekers and other qualified applicants whose papers are pending for further scrutiny of the management or employers who joined the employment activity.

Also during the TNK activity, there were fifty four (54) applicants who availed themselves of the business counseling services of the DTI while the skills training of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and DTI had ninety (90) registrants.

There were Abrenos who availed themselves of the services extended by other partner government agencies namely the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) , Social Security System(SSS), PhilHealth, and Philippine Statistics Authority(PSA). END/Patrick T Rillorta with reports from DOLE-Abra.
