Mylene grew up in this community finishing her elementary and high school in Bauko. The meager income of her parents was allocated to the education of her 3 siblings. Mylene, the second among the four siblings, understood that her parents income was not enough to support their educational support.

In 2012, aiming to finish her college studies and wanting not to be a burden to her parents, she personally applied as a working scholar with the Students Affairs Office of Saint Louis University (SLU) where she is taking up Bachelor of Science in Business Administration-Major in Financial Management and needing more financial assistance to pay off her books, allowance and other financial needs, she learned about the Special Program of Employment for Students of the Department of Labor and Employment, and she did not waste time and immediately applied to be one of the beneficiaries because he knew that SPES would alleviate his financial burden.

Luckily, she was accepted as a SPES beneficiary by the Saint Louis University, Baguio City at the same time a working student at the same tome a working student at the same university. She was accepted as an On-the Job Trainee of the Technical Services and Support Division (TSSD) of DOLE-CAR for 6 months and exhibiting extraordinary performance, her supervisors appreciated her, thus, after her OJT, she still continued her training and was eventually was hired as a Job Order for the TSSD after her graduation.

In 2015, Ms. Palaleo earned her degree in Bachelor of Science Business Administration-Major in Financial Management at Saint Louis University (SLU) and thru determination and hard work, she hurdled the Civil Service Professional Examinations in October 2015   and eventually passed.

Mylene never considered poverty as a hindrance to education instead, she used it as a motivating factor to continue her studies and strive hard to finish her college degree.  Last July 18, 2016 she was hired as Administrative Aide IV for the Internal Management Support Division (IMSD) of DOLE-CAR and in December 0f 2017, she was promoted as a Labor and Employment Officer II assigned to the Mt.
