October 15, 2021 – The Department of Labor and Employment – Mountain Province Field Office (DOLE-CAR MPFO) participated in the launching of the DUTERTE LEGACY: Barangayanihan Caravan at the Provincial Plaza, Bontoc, Mountain Province. The main idea of the Barangayanihan Caravan is to bring government support closer to the people.

The opening program started with Mountain Province Vice Governor Francis Tauli welcoming all the attendees. Philippine National Police-CAR Regional Director Bgen. Ronald O. Lee appeared as the guest speaker. He said that although the activity is spearheaded by the PNP and the DILG, it is still the collective effort of all agencies participating that makes it successful.

As an employment facilitation strategy, a list of job vacancies were posted in the DOLE booth for jobseekers who pass by. An information dissemination drive was conducted through the distribution of Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials, highlighting the various programs and services offered by the Department.

Similarly, national line agencies present in the activity rendered assistance to the general public. Agencies such as the Philippine Statistics Authority printed National ID’s of the applicants, the Philippine National Police processed Police Clearances and provided free hair-cut, among other similar services.

Municipalities and barangays in the province are expected to have the same activity within their areas in order for similar assistance to reach those in the far flung locales.
