In celebration of the 123rd Philippine Independence Day, the Department of Labor and Employment Cordillera Administrative Region (DOLE-CAR) offered more than 3,000 local and 600 overseas employment opportunities to aspiring workers across the country from June 12 to 15, 2021.
With the theme “Kalayaan 2021: Diwa ng Kalayaan sa Pagkakaisa at Paghilom ng Bayan”, the lead organizer of the commemorative activity, the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP), in partnership with DOLE-CAR, Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), and Mynimo.com spearhead the Kalayaan 2021 Online Job Fair Trabaho, Negosyo and Kabuhayan through a digital employment platform interconnecting qualified aspiring job-applicants with employers.
Embracing the new normal amidst the ongoing pandemic, applicants were directed to register online and search for suitable vacant positions through https://mynimo.com/dolecar or https://onlineservices.poea.gov.ph. The online platform had an extended run until June 15, 2021.
Of the 332 online applicants, 110 are females and the rest are males. Records reflect that 19 seekers were hired-on-the-spot, or were immediately employed by various local companies. There were also 47 near-hires, which as the name implies, are applicants who need only to provide supplemental documents or accomplish additional requirements prior to employment. As for overseas employment, 157 applicants were accepted for further processing.
Local establishments joining the job fair include: Iqor, Texas Instruments, Home Credit, Noble Trends Unbound Inc., GRL Cinnamon Bakeshop, ACE Hardware, Sitel, North East West Food Marketing, Aboitiz Power, Asia Brewery Incorporated, Leighdenshaft Academic Support Services Incorporated, J&T Express, C & Triple A Supermarket, Inc., and Marikina Valley Medical Center.
Available local employment includes industries in the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), academic, administrative, clerical or office work, logistics, skilled work, and those in the retail, marketing and sales trade.
Participating companies for overseas employment include Chartreuse Prime Recruitment Specialists, Inc., UNO Overseas Placement, Inc., Faasi International Corporation, Nihon Kokusai Recruitment Agency, Co. (NKRA), Placewell International Services Corporation, A-Vantage International Recruitment Corp. industries include fields of healthcare, skilled work, construction, machine operators, hospitality services, were among the listed occupations abroad.
DOLE-CAR Regional Director Nathaniel V. Lacambra, CESO III, stated that the Regional Office continues to encourage the public to avail of these services, and assured the workers that the protection of the their workplace welfare is of primary importance.
