Bangued, Abra- This year’s mega job fair registered a total of 755 job applicants of whom 17 were hired on the spot.

During the opening, participants appreciated the initiative of Governor Ma. Jocelyn Valera Bernos in spearheading the Job Fair.     Mr. Raymond Hacutina said “Agyaman nak unay ta naikkan kami ti gundaway nga agkatrabaho”.

Of the total applicants, 600 applied for local employment and 155 for overseas. Hired on the spot were 17, 4 of them were domestic helper and 4 were caregiver to be deployed in various Asian countries.

For the 9 locally hired, Mang Inasal-Bangued enlisted 3 service crew, Centro Department store-Bangued hired one selling crew and one sales professional, DSWD enlisted 2 and Card Bank Inc. hired 2 accounting officer.

There were a total of 8 agencies for overseas employment and 18 local agencies participated in the job fair.

The Mega Job Fair in Abra was successfully carried out through the collaborative efforts of all member-agencies of the Provincial Jobs fair committee under the leadership of Governor Ma. Jocelyn Valera Bernos who provided funds for the food and accommodation of the participating employers for both local and overseas and the assistance of partner agencies such as the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), PhilHealth, Social, Security System (SSS), TESDA, Philpost, Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), NBI, National College of Science and Terchnology NCST, the provincial and municipal Public Employment Services Office (PESOs) in Abra.
